A sense of humor only goes so far. When your wife earns more than you - and sure, there's a few women who actually don't mind this - most women will be utterly dissatisfied. Hell hath no fury like that of a woman whose dream of trading up has been shattered.
Not only are your future 20something boys stuck with picking up the tab for the date, and paying alimony when he gets dumped by his wife, and being door-holding chivalry slaves for his new economic masters, but he's earning less than women, too. Your boys are up for a male bashing the likes of which would make Valerie Solanas rise from the grave and do the stomp dance.
And if you think male bashing is bad now, wait'll the income gap grows. You ain't seen women bad mouthing men yet until large numbers of women in large population centers wake up and realize they're earning more than the men around them.
It's going to be misandry Armageddon.
Advice for parents of baby boys:
Train your boys to be police men, soldiers or fire fighters. A man earning less money than women is marginally acceptable if he is a hunk in uniform and can potentially protect her from danger.
Me, I'm shaking my prospectus with glee in preparation for our new economic masters. Seeing as we have one baby girl toddler and she's gonna be rich, too. :)
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for men's rights. But the fight is lost. It's done for. As women start widening their income lead over men, hatred of men in general will become as American as apple pie.

When you take 2 equal parties and give one a significant edge, what do you expect to happen? I'll give you a hint -- they won't tend to keep the same pace.

Statistically the gap between women's and men's incomes has been broadening. About 10 years ago women earned something like 81 cents for every dollar and now women earn about 79 cents. This is when you compare women and men in the same position with the same qualification. The only exception is that of college graduates. Men and women, straight out of college often start at the same salary. This is adjusted quickly and the men soon make more...again when comparing the same jobs and same qualifications.
I guess you are just trying to get a laugh here though, otherwise this make not sense to me. Unless you are in a community of people where the young women are just getting into positions that normally pay more money for women or men.
If you are not joking, what is the threat of women making more money. I guess if you have a women doctor and a male ditch digger in the same household, obviously the women is going to make more money. But if there are two doctors the man will make more. Even if they make more money, this is only a smoke screen.
Women want us to work in boring, meaningless jobs, so that we will no longer participate (in a meaningful way) in society. Not that we are victims here...we willingly participate. If they are manipulating us more with this race to the best wages, then that is just another weapon they posess. Again, statistically speaking this isn't the greatest threat to men's power in my book.
Boys were stripped of their manhood long before women got back into the workplace. Most of men's roles in the raising of our boys is gone today. Boys raised by women, equals the mess we have. Boys have to be raised by men too...regardless of income.
