Howdy guys! A while back on The History Channel (though, recently, I sometimes wonder where the actual ancient history has gone!) I happened to see a program where it was mentioned that ancient Greek adolescent males would cull the trimmings of their FIRST shaving into a bowl, and sacrifice it on the Altar of Zeus as an offering. Sadly, I've not hitherto been able to substantiate this declaration.
I just bought a new razor this afternoon with which to groom my goatee when I reflected about this historical tidbit. After all, the only Rites de Passage most men have these days is learning to shave. Sadly, my dad never taught me, and that breaks my heart, sometimes... Men in western society are, IMNSHO, desperate for rites of passage in their community and family lives (of course, only amid the MEN). But, the only "family" one we have is a father teaching a son to shave; while the only other one I can think of is getting laid for the first time (which is usually a private affair)...and no father wants to talk with his son about his "first time"! What do you men think about the loss and need for particularly male rites of passage? And, PLEASE, do NOT circumcise your sons!!! It deprives him of 70-80 percent of his ultimate sexual sensitivity, when he's old enough to appeciate that, once sexually active or masturbating. Hell, the foreskin is so sensitive, that many of my own uncut lovers have been able to make themselves cum just by playing with their foreskin themselves! Circumcision also leads to a widespead form of sexual disfunction, of which I suffer... While I love sex, if I don't get off quickly, I cease enjoying it (a couple hours down the road) that my stamina fails me and I never end up cumming. Either that or, during intervourse, the stimulation is not "right", because of my literally lack of a foreskin that I'm never able to climex that way with another person. You know what I mean?
Take Care,
Wade
